Attention Stingrays' swimmers! It's penny drive week! What is a penny drive? A penny drive is when you collect pennies from your piggy bank, family, and friends to benefit your swim team. All swimmers will be divided into four evenly-numbered teams. Throughout the week of June 8th there will be money jars at all practices. Put your pennies in your team's jar. Now here's where it gets fun! You can sabotage the other teams by placing your silver coins and dollar bills into their jars. All silver coins and dollar bills will count against the total team tally. For example: My team jar has 100 pennies, 2 dimes, and a nickel. My team has a total tally of 75 cents. The penny drive will end on Friday June 12th at 7:00 PM. The winning team will be announced during the home meet on June 13th and will receive a pizza party with the coaches on Monday June 15th at 7:00 PM. The teams are as follows: Team Freestyle: 7-8 year olds Team Backstroke: 9-10 year olds Team Breaststroke : 11-12/15-18 year olds Team Butterfly: 6 and under/13-14 year olds Please get your parents' permission before taking any money from home to put in the jars.
